OfficeSpace Slack Integration
The OfficeSpace Slack Integration allows administrators to quickly connect OfficeSpace with Slack, enabling users to search for colleagues and resources, book and check into desks and rooms, receive booking cancellation notifications, and manage Safeguard forms directly within Slack using commands like /find, /book_desk, and /find_rooms, with features varying by subscription plan.
Turning on the integration for Slack is quick and easy. You will be able to search for colleagues and resources directly in Slack and get the most up-to-date location information from OfficeSpace Visual Directory®.
Please note that your subscription plan determines the specific set of features available to you, which may result in differences between what you see and the images presented in this article. For further details on the features included in your plan, please contact your OfficeSpace Admin.
In order to install the app, you must be an OfficeSpace administrator.
Start by signing into OfficeSpace. Then, under ‘Admin’ click on ‘Connectors’.
On the Connectors screen, select Communication Tools followed by OfficeSpace Slack App.
On the Slack Application Integrations page, select Add to Slack to add the OfficeSpace app to Slack for your organization.
Simply add a Slack team from the ‘Post to’ drop down menu.
Once you click ‘Authorize’ you will be ready to use /find to locate people and resources in Slack!
The Slack Team Admin will receive a Slack message notification that the OfficeSpace app has been installed.
How to interact with the OfficeSpace App for Slack
You may send a direct message to the app to:
- Find what you need, fast
- Type
/findor/locateto quickly search for whatever you need—colleagues, resources, rooms.
- Type
- Find, book, and check into desks
- Type
/book_deskto locate an available desk to book.
- Type
- Find, book, and check into rooms
- Type
/find_roomsto locate nearby rooms and manage your bookings.
- Type
- Get notified when a booking is cancelled
- If your room or desk booking is cancelled for any reason, you’ll receive a push notification via Slack.
- Manage Safeguard forms
- Receive a push notification via Slack and a link to complete and submit your Safeguard form before entering the office.
